Boston Celtics All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas has often expressed his appreciation for soon-to-be Hall of Famer Allen Iverson and, after taking part in Iverson's gala this week in Philadelphia, Thomas took to social media to gush again.
Thomas thanked Iverson while posting a picture on Twitter of an autographed Iverson jersey with the inscription, "To a real killa," with Iverson's autograph next to his familiar No. 3.
He also posted a picture of himself posing with Iverson on Instagram:
Pound for pound the best to ever play the game! Thank you @theofficialai3 for everything you've done for the game a basketball. There will never be another Allen Iverson but I'm for damn sure going to be the closest thing to you LOL. Thank you for inviting me to your Gala and allowing me to speak at it. Appreciate all the long talks we've had, they have changed the way I approach the game! #RealRecognizeReal #TheAnswer 📸: @joipearsonphoto
Thomas has repeatedly stressed his desire to be the best player in NBA history under 6 feet tall. Iverson was listed at 6 feet, but many have wondered if he was shorter than his official height.
