Lindstrom is ESPN Boston Lineman of the Year

ESPNBoston.com and its high schools section announce today that Chris Lindstrom, senior offensive guard and defensive end of the Shepherd Hill Regional High School Rams, is the recipient of this year's ESPN Boston Lineman of the Year award.

The Lineman of the Year award winner was chosen by a panel of experts made up of ESPNBoston.com staff and correspondents, as well as analysts from Scouts Inc. Lindstrom joins Duxbury’s Gordon Acha (2011), Everett’s John Montelus (2012) and Plymouth South's Shaun Duncombe (2013) among past recipients in the award's history. Lindstrom will be presented the award at a later date.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Lindstrom has been one of the most dominant two-way lineman in the Bay State the last two seasons, earning ESPN Boston All-State honors as a junior a year ago and coming into this season with plenty of hype. He more than lived up to the billing, as the Rams ran for 3,835 yards and 49 touchdowns as a team behind him in their vaunted "Double Wing" offense, capturing the MIAA Division 4 Central title in the process. It's the second straight year the Rams went over 3,000 yards rushing as a team.

Defensively, Lindstrom was a force off the edge, registering 66 tackles (14 for loss) and 5.5 sacks. He was named MVP of Central Mass.'s Division 4 for the second straight season.

Lindstrom will continue his career next fall at Boston College.
