X's and O's: Northbridge wins with physicality, timely defense

Northbridge used a physical run game and two late turnovers to beat East Bridgewater 36-34 in a shootout. So how did Ken LaChappelle's team win the Super Bowl? With a physical run game.

Kick Play: Northbridge used their Gun Divide formation and their Gun Split formation to pound the football. They scored two touchdowns on this kick play. They also ran a fair amount of Counter and Counter Tray out of this formation. Northbridge rushed for 112 yards on the day.

Key Play: Northbridge used a tight end middle

screen in the third quarter that extended a drive that helped Northbridge score the go ahead touchdown after East Bridgewater scored to take the lead. Northbridge needed a big play to extend the drive and they did.

Bracket Coverage: Northbridge was able to seal the game late with a pick from quarterback/free safety Koby Schofer. Ryan Graham tried to get the ball to Jake Peterson but he overthrew him and Schofer made an over the shoulder pick to seal the game.
