Extra points

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Extra points easy to overlook from the Patriots' 31-14 win over the Jets:

1. Stephen Gostkowski's second-quarter touchback was his 19th of the season. That is a career high and the most for a Patriots player since 1990. Gostkowski's touchbacks have improved every year -- 12 as a rookie in 2006, 15 in 2007 and 17 in 2008.

2. Tully Banta-Cain's two sacks give him a team-high five on the season. He is on the verge of eclipsing his career high of 5.5, set in 2006.

3. Tom Brady has won 21 straight starts at home (including playoffs).

4. Four-year veteran Dan Connolly made his first career start, at right guard in place of injured Stephen Neal. Also, rookie Rich Ohrnberger made his NFL debut in the first quarter when he lined up at right guard while Connolly moved to fullback.

5. It's a "Victory Monday" for the players. Bill Belichick gave them the day off.
