Chicago Tribune NFL reporter Dan Pompei was a guest on ESPN's "First Take" on Monday, and he provided insight on the Seattle Seahawks and their plans with receiver Deion Branch (video below).
The well-connected Pompei said he had spoken to first-year general manager John Schneider, and that Schneider told him the team isn't planning to release Branch but didn't rule out the possibility of trading him.
With this in mind, if you were part of the Patriots' front office along with Bill Belichick, Nick Caserio and Floyd Reese, what might you offer?
Mike Sando, who covers the NFC West for ESPN.com, picked up on one suggestion from last week's ESPNBoston.com Patriots mailbag: Adalius Thomas for Branch. Sando's readers filled his blog with reaction, as well as trade possibilities for each team in that division.
In a 2010 season without a salary cap, some project there may be more trades than the norm. That makes it fun to consider all the possibilities.
