FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots running back Kevin Faulk will be placed on season-ending injured reserve today, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports.
One question left unanswered is Faulk's mindset for the future. Will he attempt to make a comeback next season?
The 34-year-old Faulk was playing on a one-year deal so he'll be a free agent in 2011. This past offseason, he had interest from multiple teams, at least one of which offered him a multiple-year contract, but he was set on returning to the Patriots as long as there was an offer.
In March, Faulk had relayed a conversation he had with his wife about his future.
“She said ‘We got this [contract] done, so what’s next?’ The only thing I could tell her is that right now I don’t know the answer,” Faulk said at the time. “We’ll see at the end of the season how I feel physically and mentally. But right now I feel good.”
