FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is second on the team with 29 receptions, was not spotted at the start of Patriots practice today.
Hernandez did not appear to be injured in last Sunday's win over the Vikings, as played more snaps than any other tight end or receiver.
Veteran running back Fred Taylor (toe injury) and safety Jarrad Page (calf) also remain out of practice, while offensive lineman Logan Mankins participated in his first workout with the team.
Elsewhere, practice squad linebacker Tyrone McKenzie and practice squad receiver Darnell Jenkins were not spotted at the start of the session. The Patriots are set to make a practice squad move by 4 p.m. today, as they have to create a spot after signing defensive lineman Lorenzo Washington to the practice squad.
Players were in shorts/sweatpants and light shoulder pads and the session was held on the upper practice fields.
