Chung: Injured knee 'feeling good'

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots safety Patrick Chung, who has missed the last two games with a knee injury, gave a positive report on his progress Thursday.

"I'm feeling good," he said. "I'm going day by day, seeing how it feels, but it feels good so far."

Asked if he feels he has a better chance of playing Sunday in Pittsburgh than he did the last two weeks, Chung expressed optimism.

"I would say it's a lot better, but you know how I am -- I just go out every day and see how it feels," he said. "But it feels way better, a lot better."

Chung hurt the knee against the Chargers when a helmet made contact with it. He had attempted to play two weeks ago against the Vikings, working out on the field before the game in an attempt to convince the athletic trainers/doctors that he was ready.

"That's just me, I'm always going to try to go," he said. "Sometimes it just doesn't work out in your favor."
