Pats-Packers nets 3rd highest local rating

The Patriots’ 31-27 win over the Packers on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” drew the third-highest regular-season local ratings in franchise history, the team announced today.

The game drew a 42.62 household rating in the Boston market. More than one million people tuned in to WHDH-TV Channel 7 in the local market to watch.

The contest was the highest-rated game of the season in the local market, topping the Patriots’ Dec. 6 victory over the Jets, which had previously set the mark for the third-highest regular-season local ratings in history.

The only two games that had higher local ratings were the Patriots' 2007 season finale against the Giants and a Dec. 7, 2003 win over the Dolphins in the snow.
