Brady: Flu didn't affect preparation

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots quarterback Tom Brady arrived at the podium for his news conference this morning and apologized to those in attendance.

"Sorry to have you come in here on Christmas Eve," he told reporters.

Brady, who was held out of Wednesday's practice as has been the norm in recent weeks, reported that he is feeling better after battling flu-like symptoms earlier in the week.

"It was probably what a lot of guys are getting hit with lately. It's been going around town," he said. "But I'm feeling good. Had a good day of practice yesterday and have to go out and have a good day today and get sharpened up and ready to play for a division title."

Asked how it affected his ability to prepare, Brady said: "None."

Later, Brady added: "I'm ready for Santa Claus and I'm ready to play some football."
