3 up, 3 down for the Patriots

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- A look at three players/units whose performance was "up" and three players/units whose performance was "down" in the Patriots' 28-21 loss to the Jets:

Alge Crumpler -- Although his dropped touchdown pass in the first quarter turned out to be a key play in the game, his hustle to chase down linebacker David Harris on an interception saves the Patriots six points, and he also catches a touchdown pass.

Julian Edelman -- He makes plays on the ground (11-yard rush), as a receiver (12-yard catch), and as a punt returner (41 yards).

Rob Ninkovich -- Outside linebacker finishes with four tackles and two passes defended before leaving the game in the third quarter with a knee injury (MRI scheduled for Monday).

Deion Branch -- Drops a pass on fourth down as the Patriots were making a last-gasp comeback effort and also commits a false-start penalty.

Patrick Chung -- Fumbles the fake-snap attempt late in the second quarter on one of the key plays in the game.

Offensive line -- While the Jets played a coverage-heavy approach, and won more one-on-one battles down the field, the protection up front still struggles to keep Tom Brady clean (5 sacks allowed).
