Further detail on 6th round picks

Earlier this morning, the Patriots' 2011 draft picks were listed, although there are a few holes in the board because details of trades have yet to be revealed.

One area that can be cleared up is the sixth round.

The Patriots had two sixth-round picks entering the 2010 season -- their own, and one from New Orleans in the 2009 David Thomas trade.

On Sept. 14, 2010, they traded running back Laurence Maroney and a 2011 sixth-round draft choice to the Broncos for a 2011 fourth-round draft choice.

The pick they sent to Denver is the one they received from New Orleans. That selection is four spots higher (24th) than the Patriots' pick (28th).
