Faulk: 'I'm a Patriot for life'

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Veteran running back Kevin Faulk took part in the Tom Brady-led workouts Thursday at Boston College, and stopped briefly to chat after the session.

Asked about his status as a free-agent, Faulk was quick and to the point.

"I'm a free agent," he said, "but I'm a Patriot for life."

Faulk, who has been with the team since 1999 and is coming off ACL surgery, could still be part of the team's plans even though the club drafted Shane Vereen (second round) and Stevan Ridley (third round).

As for the workouts at BC, Faulk commented on his impressions.

"Hey man, everybody's trying to get back into football right now. It went well. When you get a large group of guys into a situation in the area they're not accustomed to -- and they actually come out -- it speaks volumes of the commitment of the team," he said.
