Haynesworth practices for third straight day

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth took part in Thursday's practice, marking the third straight day that Haynesworth has been on the practice fields. The final session of the week was held in shorts and light shoulder pads.

Haynesworth's attendance at practice this week is a positive, but not a sure sign that he could play in Saturday's preseason game in Detroit.

There were no changes in practice attendance from Wednesday, meaning that rookie running back Shane Vereen took part in his second straight practice after missing several weeks of action.

With the team set to travel to Detroit on Friday, it is unlikely that any of the 14 players not spotted at practice on Thursday will play in Saturday night's preseason game against the Lions. This list is headlined by running back Stevan Ridley, defensive lineman Jermaine Cunningham, linebackers Brandon Spikes and Dane Fletcher, and cornerback Leigh Bodden.

Other players not taking part in the media access portion of Thursday's practice were running backs Kevin Faulk (active/PUP) and Eric Kettani; offensive lineman Marcus Cannon (active/NFI) and Ryan Wendell; defensive linemen Ron Brace (active/PUP), Mike Wright, and Brandon Deaderick (active/PUP); linebacker Jeff Tarpinian; and cornerback Malcolm Williams.
