Quick hits from Patriots locker room

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Some quick-hit thoughts from the media access period in the Patriots' locker room (11:15 a.m.-noon):

1. In a quieter day, players drawing large media crowds included safeties James Ihedigbo and Patrick Chung, as well as cornerback Devin McCourty.

2. Wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, whose recent comments on Twitter sparked some strong reaction from ESPN NFL Analyst and former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi, was in the locker room but declined comments to reporters who approached him. Pursued by the media, Ochocinco wheeled around, smiled, and said, "Y'all know I'm not talking."

3. Offensive lineman Matt Light also turned down interview requests.

4. Offensive lineman Thomas Welch, who was released by the team on Tuesday, was back in the locker room on Thursday, one day after clearing waivers. While no official announcement has been made, Welch was likely re-signed to the practice squad. With the practice squad already full at eight players, a corresponding move will have to be made.
