Total QBR: Rodgers overtakes Brady

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers -- fresh off a 400-yard, four-touchdown effort against Denver in Week 4 -- has ascended to the top of ESPN's Total QBR season leaderboard, leapfrogging New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

From ESPN Stats and Info: "With his spectacular Week 4 performance, Aaron Rodgers moves barely ahead of Tom Brady for the overall lead in Total QBR this season. Matt Hasselbeck's great game vaults him into third place on the year, while Ryan Fitzpatrick's rough performance drops him from second all the way down to fifth. Jaguars rookie Blaine Gabbert brings up the rear with a Total QBR of 12.1 through Week 4."

During his quietest week of the season, Brady checked in at No. 7 after his efforts (16-of-30 passing, 226 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT) against the Raiders. Here's a look at the Week 4 leaderboard:

It's worth noting that Patriots coach Bill Belichick suggested that Brady's overall game management against Oakland might have produced his best effort of the season. Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien echoed those sentiments on Tuesday.

"When you play quarterback in this league -- No. 1, it’s about the wins and losses, it’s your team wins," said O'Brien. "No. 2, it’s really good decision making and throwing the ball accurately and not turning the ball over. Then there are other things that come into play, especially like as it related to last week -- a road game, the crowd noise early, getting us in the right protection or into the right running play or whatever it may be. He did a very good job of managing the game and sticking with the game plan and he played a very solid game."
