FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Quick hits from the media-access period in the Patriots' locker room (2:20-3:20 p.m.):
1. Offensive lineman Brian Waters was the lone player drawing a large media crowd. Overall, it was a quiet day in the room, as players were in for meetings and lifting. They return to the practice field Wednesday.
2. Waters on what the team accomplished today: "I think today was a good day to come in and really try to clean up some things from this last week. Coming tomorrow, I'm more than sure there will be a lot of focus on details [from the overall season], some of the things we haven't been able to go over because over the course of the season you want to get ready for the next opponent. The fact we don't know who our next opponent is gives us an opportunity to really focus on ourselves."
3. Practice squad defensive end Markell Carter earned one of the team's practice player of the week awards. That's his seventh black jersey of the year.
4. Linebacker Rob Ninkovich, who was on the field for the first 24 plays of Sunday's win and then was shut down for the rest of the day, came through after a meeting. Ninkovich has been on the injury report (hip) and the bye week is important for players like him, giving them an extra week to recover.
