Mock thoughts: Reyes & Barron

Dane Brugler of CBSSports.com updates his mock draft this week and he focuses on defense for the Patriots with their top two picks.

At No. 27, he stays in the Northeast with UConn defensive lineman Kendall Reyes.

"He is a ferocious lineman who has the skill-set to easily play any of the positions along the front with the Patriots' hybrid 4-3 defense," Brugler writes. "Reyes was among the top performers at the Combine with 36 reps of 225 pounds on the bench ..."

At No. 31, Alabama safety Mark Barron is the pick.

"It's hard to believe the Patriots reached the Super Bowl after ranking just 31st in the league in pass yards allowed. The Patriots need to target a defensive back in the draft and Mark Barron would be able to fill a need immediately at safety," Brugler writes. "Although he hasn't been able to work out for teams because of hernia surgery, teams know what Barron brings to the table as he is by far the top player at his position in this class."
