Develin's work draws notice

FOXOROUGH, Mass. -- Former Brown University star James Develin has spent this season on the Patriots' practice squad, and on Thursday the coaching staff acknowledged his behind-the-scenes work with a practice player of the week honor.

Every week following a victory, the coaching staff selects players that it best feels helped prepare the team in the days leading up to a victory.

Develin, offensive lineman Nick McDonald and linebacker Jeff Tarpinian were the choices for their work leading up to Sunday's win over the Rams.

It's the second time Develin, a fullback, has been recognized by the coaching staff. Ditto for Tarpinian.

Rookie defensive end Justin Francis (3) is the team leader.
