FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has played a game in every NFL city except San Francisco over the course of his 13-year career, a result of missing the Patriots-49ers game in 2008 with a torn ACL.
Meanwhile, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is prepared to complete his own full-city NFL cycle on Monday night with a trip to New England and Gillette Stadium.
"This is actually the last [city/region] that I haven’t played in the NFL, so no, I have not been up there yet," Schaub said on a conference call Thursday afternoon.
For the 31-year-old Schaub, whose two games against the Patriots came in the 2005 season (at Atlanta with the Falcons) and 2009 season (at Houston with the Texans), that will result in some extra attention to details in the pregame.
"When you go somewhere new, you get out there and you want to just check out how the field is and throw the ball around with your guys, just getting a feel for the depth and just for where everything is -- where the play clock is, where the game clock is. Just get a feel for your surroundings and everything like that," he said.
"But then as far as football, once the game starts, it’s just playing the game between the lines. We play in some hostile, tough places so this won’t be any different for us."
