Source: Beauharnais agrees to terms

The Patriots have agreed to terms with seventh-round draft choice Steve Beauharnais, a linebacker out of Rutgers, and the deal will be completed later today, according to a league source. The deal is for four years with a maximum value of $2.207 million and includes a signing bonus of $47,592.

Beauharnais, who was named a semifinalist for the Butkus Award (given to the nation's top college linebacker) during his final season at Rutgers, was one of three Scarlet Knights drafted by the Patriots in 2013. He finished with 82 tackles to go along with one interception and one forced fumble in 2012.

The 6-foot-2, 230 pounder projects to bring special teams value in addition to his linebacker responsibilities.

Beauharnais will join safety Duron Harmon (third round, 91st overall) as the drafted rookies under contract.
