New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard received a continuance on a hearing scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8, in relation to an arrest this past July on suspicion of driving under the influence, as the hearing will now be held on Nov. 13, according to an administrator with the Lancaster County Court in Nebraska.
The arrest occurred on July 11 and Dennard admitted at a recent hearing that he violated the terms of his probation from a previous arrest that took place just days before he was drafted in April of 2012.
Dennard will also be in court on Dec. 5 to figure out whether or not he will receive any additional jail time for violating his probation; he is currently scheduled to serve 30 days in jail in March of 2014.
The new time for the hearing takes place in the week following the team's bye and on the Wednesday leading up to a "Monday Night Football" matchup with the Carolina Panthers.
Dennard, a second-year player out of Nebraska, emerged as a starter during the tail end of the 2012 season and has started four of five games for the team this season, logging 16 tackles and an interception.
