Patriots coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady have played in the same foursome at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am over the last three days, and they talked about the experience with Jim Nantz and Nick Faldo of CBS on Saturday.
"It's been great. He doesn't yell at me out here like he does during the weeks of pratcice," Brady joked of playing with Belichick. "We haven't had too many chances to do things like this, so this is a really special week for me to be with him."
Belichick smiled and said: "It's been great. I'm just trying to follow Tom's shots." Belichick also spoke with The Golf Channel and discussed why he thinks golf is so challenging when compared to football.
In the CBS interview with Nantz and Faldo, Brady was asked about the 2013 season, and he instead talked about his focus of looking ahead.
"It's great when the Super Bowl, for me, ends because I know I can put that season in the books and really start looking forward," he said.
"I agree with that. It's good when the season ends and now we're moving on," Belichick said. "I'm really proud of our team, proud of the way the players competed this year. It didn't turn out quite the way we wanted it to, but they played hard, they played tough, they were aggressive every week. I think everybody that we played felt like we were pretty competitive."
For those scoring at home for the Pro-Am, Belichick and playing partner James Driscoll of Brookline, Mass. finished minus-12, while Brady and playing partner Ricky Barnes were minus-13.
One of Brady's highlights was an eagle on No. 2.
