Jamie Collins fined for hit after fair catch

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins was fined $8,268 for striking Cincinnati Bengals receiver Brandon Tate after Tate had signaled for a fair catch in last Sunday's game.

The play came in the second quarter and Tate signaled early for the fair catch, but because his arm didn't appear to come a full length over his head -- per rule -- it's possible that Collins didn't see it. Collins was penalized on the play.

Meanwhile, defensive lineman Dominique Easley (unnecessary roughness) and tight end Rob Gronkowski (unsportsmanlike conduct) were not fined.
