Catching up with former Patriots, AFC style

Every Wednesday, we'll lead off the day with a look at some notable former Patriots and their production -- splitting it into two updates between the AFC and NFC:

CB Darius Butler (Colts) -- Colts were on the bye. New England's second-round pick in 2009 has played 325 of 580 defensive snaps this season -- primarily as the slot corner -- and has 26 tackles and four passes defended.

S Sergio Brown (Colts) -- The former undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame has started four games this season to fill the void created by LaRon Landry's suspension. Colts coach Chuck Pagano said Brown will remain in the starting lineup this week against the Patriots.

WR Kenbrell Thompkins (Raiders) -- Started but played just two of 63 offensive snaps in a home loss to the Broncos. He has five catches for 42 yards since joining the Raiders.

CB Aqib Talib (Broncos) -- Played all 63 defensive snaps in a road win over the Raiders. Talib has played 606 of 642 defensive snaps in nine games this season, with 11 passes defended and 37 tackles.

WR Wes Welker (Broncos) -- Totaled four catches for 24 yards in a road win over the Raiders, playing 66 of 80 offensive snaps. He has played 361 of 511 offensive snaps in his seven games this season. He has 26 catches for 236 yards.

LB Brandon Spikes (Bills) -- Played 37 of 60 defensive snaps in a home loss to the Chiefs, and totaled three tackles (1 for a loss). He has played 327 of 628 defensive snaps this season.

RB LeGarrette Blount (Steelers) -- Played six of 64 offensive snaps in a road loss to the Jets, and finished with five carries for no yards. He now has 65 carries for 267 yards this season.

QB Brian Hoyer (Browns) -- Finished 15 of 23 for 198 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in a road win over the Bengals on Thursday night. Played efficiently as the running game and defense led the way to help the surprising Browns improve to 6-3.

WR Greg Salas (Jets) -- Played nine of 59 offensive snaps in a home win over the Steelers, but didn't register a catch as he returned from injury. He has played in 208 of 697 snaps this season and has eight catches for 167 yards.

TE Zach Sudfeld (Jets) -- Played 12 of 59 offensive snaps in a home win over the Steelers. He didn't register on the stat sheet and now played in 63 of 697 offensive snaps this season.

QB Ryan Mallett (Texans) -- Bye week, but a memorable one for the former Patriots backup as he was named the starting quarterback over Ryan Fitzpatrick for Sunday's game against the Browns.

LB Jeff Tarpinian (Texans) -- Bye week. The core special teams player has appeared in seven games this season.

C Rich Ohrnberger (Chargers) -- Bye week. The 2009 fourth-round pick has played in seven games this season (6 starts).

OT Will Svitek (Titans) -- Veteran was inactive in a road loss to the Ravens. The 32-year-old has yet to appear in a game for Tennessee after signing with them in mid-October.

WR Kamar Aiken (Ravens) -- Playing 18 of 62 offensive snaps, he totaled one catch for 13 yards in a home win over the Titans. In 10 games, he has 13 catches for 138 yards and one touchdown this season.
