Every Wednesday, we'll lead off the day with a look at some notable former New England Patriots and their production -- splitting it into two updates between the AFC and NFC:
CB Aqib Talib (Broncos) -- Returned after missing a game with a hamstring injury, starting and playing 74 of 80 snaps in a home win over the Bills, where he picked up four tackles. Talib has played 762 of 894 defensive snaps in 12 games, with 11 passes defended, two interceptions and 46 tackles.
WR Wes Welker (Broncos) -- Totaled six catches for 82 yards in a home win over the Bills, playing 38 of 55 offensive snaps. In 11 games this season he has played 578 of 792 offensive snaps, totaling 41 catches for 376 yards.
ST Don Jones (Dolphins) -- He played 12 snaps on special teams in a home loss to the Ravens and didn't register on the stat sheet after totaling two special-teams tackles the week before.
WR Kamar Aiken (Ravens) -- He played 46 of 65 snaps and totaled six catches for 65 yards and a touchdown in a road win over the Dolphins. He has 22 catches for 254 yards and two touchdowns this season.
LB Brandon Spikes (Bills) -- Played 21 of 55 defensive snaps in a road loss to the Broncos, finishing with three tackles. He has played 430 of 877 defensive snaps this season (49 percent).
WR Kenbrell Thompkins (Raiders) -- Played 14 of 63 offensive snaps in a home win over the 49ers but didn't register on the stat sheet. He has nine catches for 117 yards since joining the Raiders.
CB Darius Butler (Colts) -- Started and played all 65 defensive snaps in a road win over the Browns (4 tackles, 1 pass defended). He has 40 tackles and seven passes defended this season.
S Sergio Brown (Colts) -- The former undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame started his eighth straight game and played 33 of 65 defensive snaps in a road win over the Browns, totaling two tackles.
QB Brian Hoyer (Browns) -- Was 14 of 31 for 140 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in a home loss to the Colts. After leading the Browns to a 7-6 record, Hoyer is being replaced as the team's starter this week in favor of Johnny Manziel.
C Nick McDonald (Browns) -- Dressed but did not play in a home loss to the Colts after hurting his ankle the week before. The former Patriot, who played 16 games (3 starts) for the team from 2011-2012, has started six of the last seven games for the Browns.
QB Ryan Mallett (Texans) -- Was placed on season-ending injured reserve last week with a torn pectoral muscle after making two starts in relief of Ryan Fitzpatrick.
LB Jeff Tarpinian (Texans) -- Played 19 special-teams snaps in a road win over the Jaguars and was credited with an assisted tackle.
OT Will Svitek (Titans) -- The 32-year-old veteran started at left tackle for the second week in a row, this time in a blowout home loss to the Giants. He played all 58 snaps.
WR Greg Salas (Jets) -- Was placed on season-ending injured reserve (hamstring). He played in 220 of 819 snaps this season and had eight catches for 167 yards.
TE Zach Sudfeld (Jets) -- Started and played 10 of 78 offensive snaps in a road loss to the Vikings, not registering on the stat sheet. He has played in 98 of 897 offensive snaps this season (his primary contributions come on special teams) and has two catches for 35 yards.
