Patriots back to practice today

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have practices scheduled over the next two days, as the work will mostly be dedicated to themselves and areas to tune up. Media members have access to the locker room at 3:15 p.m. ET Tuesday.

Here are a few things on our radar:

Following up on Nate Solder. The starting left tackle limped off at halftime of the season finale with a knee injury and wasn't in the locker room after the game. If he's at practice today, it will be an indication that the knee injury isn't overly serious. If he isn't at practice, it will provide an initial glimpse at potential contingency plans in the event Solder isn't ready for the divisional round. The Patriots' top options are flipping Sebastian Vollmer from right tackle to left tackle with Marcus Cannon stepping in at right tackle, or simply inserting Cannon at left tackle.

Offensive rhythm. Given that it's just two days after the game, this doesn't figure to be an intense practice. Tuesday would normally be a player's day off. Still, time on the practice field remains valuable while working to find more rhythm on offense.

Status report on Jonas Gray. After being limited last Wednesday and Thursday, Gray wasn't at practice last Friday as he rested an ankle injury sustained Dec. 21 against the Jets. Gray was the only player not at practice last Friday. His presence is worthy of monitoring today, among others.
