Special-teams standout Nate Ebner gets hometown celebration

The New England Patriots' victory in Super Bowl XLIX has sparked hometown celebrations for a variety of the team's players. One such example is with special-teams standout Nate Ebner, who was honored at his alma mater, Davidson High School, in central Ohio.

"It's not even a week in so I'm still trying to get a grasp on it, but it's amazing," Ebner said, according to the Hilliard Northwest News. "I'll catch myself driving down the road thinking about it and I'll just start smiling. You just work so hard all year and it's just a testament to hard work paying off."

Ebner drove 12 hours for "Nate Ebner Night."

During the regular season, his 11 special-teams tackles ranked second on the team behind Matthew Slater's 14.

Ebner, a 2012 sixth-round draft choice, enters the final year of his contract in 2015.
