FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Looks like Boston College got the short end of this stick.
The Red Sox PR staff sent out the lineups for Thursday's traditional doubleheader against their college neighbors, Northeastern University in the first game, BC in the second.
Most of the Sox regulars are scheduled to play in the first game against NU, the irregulars in the second against BC.
But before anyone gets too worked up, the Sox this year have changed the format for the doubleheader. Instead of a split day-night affair with separate admission, this year the Sox are staging a conventional single-admission doubleheader, with the second game scheduled to follow soon after the completion of the first.
Used to be you'd pay half price for one game or the other. BC fans, if they are intent on seeing their favorite Sox stars, are in for a longer day than their NU counterparts.
OK, enough of that. Here are the lineups:
1:35 p.m. vs. NU
Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
Dustin Pedroia, 2B
Shane Victorino, RF
Jonny Gomes, LF
Stephen Drew, SS

Joel Hanrahan, RHP

Brock Holt, SS
Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
Mauro Gomez, 1B
