Bradley celebrates at Applebee's

How did Jackie Bradley Jr. celebrate after making his major league debut Monday at Yankee Stadium?

He did something most Red Sox fans might do to revel in an accomplishment: He took his family to the local Applebee's.

“We all went out to Times Square and just hung out because my family has never been to Times Square,” Bradley said Tuesday morning in an interview on Boston sports radio station WEEI. “I wanted to show them what the big city, bright lights had to offer. We all went out to Applebee's and just enjoyed ourselves and then came back and hung out.”

The Bradley family was out in force in the Bronx on Monday. In addition to his parents, Bradley said his aunt, uncle, “little cousin” and his fiancée made the trip for Opening Day.

“I was able to sneak right on in (to Applebee’s),” Bradley said. “I’m not a well-known face.”

The soon-to-be 23-year-old Bradley had three walks, scored two runs and made a couple of hustle plays on the basebaths and in the field in Monday’s Red Sox victory.
