FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Dr. Charles Steinberg, who orchestrated many of Fenway's signature events as Red Sox executive vice president of public affairs before leaving to go to the Dodgers and then the commissioner's office, may be returning to the club in an advisory capacity.
Steinberg was in Fort Myers on Wednesday night, and with the Sox in the midst of planning numerous events to observe the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park this season, there are indications that the club is hiring him away from his role as adviser to commissioner Bud Selig to help in the Fenway celebrations.
An announcement could come as soon as Friday.
