FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Patriots Director of Player Personnel Nick Caserio answered questions from reporters this morning (9 a.m.), and one of the topics was potential interest in free-agent defensive end Aaron Schobel.
Caserio talked in general terms, not specifically addressing a level of interest in Schobel.
Here is the Q&A on that topic:
With Aaron Schobel now being released, he’s a guy who has really killed you guys in the past. Is he someone you’d be interested in, someone of his style, given his past [playing] in the 4-3 [defense]?
“That’s a good question. I think, this time of the year, any player that gets released, we kind of go through our normal procedure, our normal process, as far as evaluating a player, figuring out exactly what his skills are and how that would fit. He’s no different than any other player that gets released this time of the year. We’ll do our due diligence here moving forward and we’ll see how it all comes together at some point.”
