James has had many memorable moments against the Nets over the years -- at one point, he even owned a 17-game win streak against the New Jersey/Brooklyn franchise.
Here's a look back:
March 27, 2004: Just a 19-year-old rookie at the time, James went for 41 points, 13 assists and six rebounds on this night in Cleveland's victory over N.J.
May 8, 2007: In Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, James burned New Jersey for 36 points and 12 assists.
April 16, 2012: It looked like the Nets were going to steal one at the Prudential Center, but James took over late, scoring his team's final 17 points -- 37 in all.
Dec. 8, 2014: With protests going on outside Barclays Center, James wore an "I Can't Breathe" T-shirt during warm-ups. He then led the Cavaliers on a 24-6 run to end the third quarter after the royal family returned to their seats for the second half.
Jan. 10, 2014: James became irate after being fouled hard around the neck by Mirza Teletovic, and had to be restrained by his teammates. It was the play that gave everyone the infamous “Mirza Smirk.”
April 8, 2014: Mason Plumlee blocked James right before the final buzzer, as Brooklyn completed a 4-0 regular season vs. Miami. James wanted a foul on the play, but did not get the call.
May 12, 2014: Paul Pierce said he wanted the assignment of guarding James in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. But when it came time to do so -- like so many others had before him -- he failed. James was unstoppable -- and given how poorly his supporting cast was playing, he needed to be -- scoring 49 points, as the Heat gained a 3-1 series lead.
May 14, 2014: While James' final stat line in Game 5 was solid -- 29 points, nine rebounds, five assists -- it was his stellar defense on Joe Johnson late that sealed Miami's trip to the Eastern Conference finals. First, James blocked Johnson with about 1:30 left. Then, he knocked the ball away from the Nets' swingman on Brooklyn's final possession as time expired.
March 27, 2015: James vs. Mr. Whammy. LeBron allegedly had Brooklyn's superfan, who tries to distract opposing free throw shooters in order to make them miss, removed from his usual perch behind the basket by security. The two will meet again on Wednesday night. And the Nets are giving out Mr. Whammy foam fingers. Oh boy.
Nov. 28, 2015: James beat the Nets by hitting a driving floater with one second remaining to unlock an 88-88 tie.
