Bills post-draft roster reset: Safeties

Taking a look at the Buffalo Bills' roster, which stands at 90 players following the draft and undrafted free-agent signings:

Position: Safety

Veterans: Aaron Williams, Duke Williams, Bacarri Rambo, Jonathan Meeks, Kenny Ladler, Deon Broomfield

Drafted rookies: None

Undrafted rookies: Wes Miller

Rookie camp tryouts: Miller, Darius Kelly (Syracuse), Julius White (Rice)

Early thoughts: Aaron Williams is a known quantity, but the rest of this group has questions. Duke Williams improved his play last season and saw more playing time, but it's still a projection to have him in a full-time role. Rambo never found solid footing with the Washington Redskins, while Meeks has been injured in each of the past two seasons. The Bills have "kicked the tires," as coach Rex Ryan put it, of veteran safety Dawan Landry this offseason, and he could be an insurance policy if Duke Williams doesn't settle into a starting role in training camp. The Bills tried to claim D.J. Swearinger when he was waived by the Houston Texans earlier this month, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had priority. Moving veteran cornerback Corey Graham to safety is an option but one that the Bills haven't yet explored this offseason.
