Stephen Curry new sneaker has a Carolina Panthers flavor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry may be focused on the NBA Finals and LeBron James, but his new signature basketball shoe definitely has a Carolina Panthers flavor.

Pictures of the sneaker, Under Armour Curry One Low "Panthers" that is scheduled to be available on July 3, began appearing on social media this week.

Here's one example:

It's no secret Curry, who grew up in Charlotte and played college basketball locally at Davidson, is a huge Panthers fan. The reigning NBA MVP spent time with quarterback Cam Newton in training camp in 2012 and attended Carolina's NFC divisional playoff game at Seattle in January.

In March, Carolina coach Ron Rivera presented Curry with a personalized Panthers jersey for his birthday at a Golden State game. Curry in turn sent Rivera a Golden State T-shirt.

The shoe reflects Curry's appeal for his hometown NFL team. It is Carolina's signature blue accented by black, silver and white.

Just don't look for Curry to be wearing the shoe in the NBA Finals, where Golden State is up 1-0 on Cleveland after Thursday night's overtime victory.
