CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Defensive end Jared Allen spent only part of one season with the Carolina Panthers, but he made an impact.
That was seen on social media Thursday after the NFL's active sack leader (136) announced his retirement on Twitter with a unique video.

Allen's impact around the league also was felt as he played for Kansas City, Minnesota, Chicago and Carolina during his 12-year career.
