LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears inside linebacker Shea McClellin experienced delayed concussion symptoms after Sunday’s 38-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the Bears announced Monday.

McClellin is currently in the NFL’s concussion protocol. His status for Week 16’s road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is unknown.

The former first-round pick has a history of concussions.

McClellin suffered a documented concussion versus the Houston Texans in 2012 that sidelined him the following week at San Francisco. Prior to that, McClellin sustained a concussion while in college at Boise State in 2010. That particular concussion did not cause McClellin to miss a game.

McClellin was credited with eight tackles in Sunday's loss, but the inside linebacker whiffed on several tackle attempts.
