CHICAGO –- One day after releasing veteran Kevin Jones, the Bears added another body to their backfield, signing fullback Eddie Williams to a one-year contract.

Williams was taken in the seventh round by the Redskins last year, spending most of the season on Washington’s practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in early November.

A former collegiate tight end, fullback and H-back, Williams had 100 receptions in four seasons at Idaho.
