RB shuffle: Booker in, Alexander out

The Chicago Bears agreed to terms with running back Lorenzo Booker on a one-year deal and released running back Alvester Alexander, the team announced on Tuesday.

Booker was originally selected in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins but spent the past two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings where he returned 37 kickoffs for 879 yards. Booker carried the ball 13 times for 52 yards for the Vikings last season to go along with eight catches for 82 yards.

Booker joins a crowded Bears backfield that already features Matt Forte, Michael Bush, Kahlil Bell, Armando Allen and Harvey Unga.

Alexander was an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Wyoming.
