CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bears released inactives for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans, and as expected the club will play without receiver Alshon Jeffery for the fifth consecutive game.
Former Houston Texan Amobi Okoye will miss the chance to play against the team that drafted him as he makes the Bears inactives list for the third consecutive week. Other Bears inactives include receiver Dane Sanzenbacher, offensive lineman Edwin Williams, defensive tackle Matt Toeaina, tight end Brody Eldridge and defensive end Cheta Ozougwu.
Jeffery, who is recovering from a fractured right hand, returned to practice for the Bears on Friday, but sources said the club wants to hold him out as a precautionary measure before bringing the receiver back for the club's Nov. 19 contest at San Francisco.
Okoye, meanwhile, remains sidelined as a result of the strong play the club has gotten from Nate Collins, who has posted eight tackles over his last two games in in addition to four quarterback pressures.
Texans inactives include starting tight end Owen Daniel, who was a game-time decision because of a hip injury, in addition to starting nose tackle Shaun Cody, cornerback Roc Carmichael, safety Troy Nolan, running back Ben Tate, and offensive guard Cody White.
