Trestman alters travel schedule in Week 2

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman revealed on Monday the team plans to alter its travel schedule in advance of Sunday night's road game versus the San Francisco 49ers in brand new Levi's Stadium.

The Bears typically depart for road games on Saturday afternoons after going through meetings and a walk-through practice at Halas Hall.

This week, the Bears' itinerary calls for the team to fly to San Jose, California, following Friday's practice.

"That's not unusual for teams flying east to west to leave a day earlier," Trestman said. "We'll leave after practice [on Friday], get in there and get a good night's sleep and get acclimated. It's a 5:30 p.m. PT game [on Sunday], a 7:30 p.m. CT game. It's not like it's going to be a 9 or 10 p.m. game for us, but we're still going to get out there early and get ourselves acclimated.

"We'll meet on Saturday morning and have a walk-through and go outside and get them stretched out after the trip. We'll take on a normal Saturday and Sunday meeting schedule."

The Bears have lost eight straight road games to the 49ers since the Super Bowl year of 1985; the most recent being a 32-7 Monday night debacle in 2012.
