Here’s a look at how some of the Chicago Blackhawks' prospects are doing throughout the world:
Ryan Hartman, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), drafted in first round in 2013
Hartman scored two goals in the IceHogs’ season-opening 3-2 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday. He had three shots on goal and finished plus-1. This will be his first full professional season.
Matt Carey, forward, Rockford IceHogs (AHL), signed as a free agent in 2014
Carey had an assist and a team-high four shots on goal in the IceHogs’ loss to the Admirals. He was making his AHL debut.
Michael Paliotta, defenseman, Vermont (NCAA), drafted third round in 2011
Paliotta began his senior season on a high note. He had a goal and three assists and was plus-3 in Vermont’s 6-2 victory over Northeastern on Saturday.
Matt Iacopelli, forward, Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL), drafted third round in 2014
Iacopelli is tied for third in the USHL with seven points. He has six goals and one assist in seven games and has scored at least one goal in five games. He scored two goals in the Lumberjacks’ 4-3 loss to Lincoln on Saturday.
Nick Schmaltz, forward, North Dakota (NCAA), drafted first round in 2014
Schmaltz, a freshman, scored his first collegiate goal Friday in his first game. He had North Dakota’s lone tally in a 5-1 loss to Bemidji State.
Chris Calnan, forward, Boston College (NCAA), drafted third round in 2012
Calnan, a sophomore, scored a goal in Boston College’s first game of the season. Boston College lost 5-2 to UMass Lowell on Friday.
Luc Snuggerud, defenseman, Nebraska-Omaha (NCAA), drafted fifth round in 2014
Snuggerud, a freshman, had a goal and an assist Friday in his first collegiate game, helping Nebraska-Omaha to a 5-3 victory over Minnesota State. He was a minus-1 in a 4-2 loss to Minnesota State on Saturday.
Robin Press, defenseman, Sodertalje (Allsvenskan), drafted seventh round in 2013
Press continues to be one of the top offensive players in his Swedish league, where he’s second with 16 points. He has five goals, 11 assists and is plus-7 in 12 games. He extended his points streak to four games with a point Friday.
Matt Tomkins, goaltender, Ohio State (NCAA), drafted seventh round in 2012
Tomkins, a sophomore, stopped 27 of 29 shots in Ohio State’s 2-1 overtime loss to Providence on Saturday.
Sam Jardine, defenseman, Ohio State (NCAA), drafted sixth round in 2011
Jardine, a junior, had two assists, two blocks and was minus-3 in Ohio State’s 5-4 overtime victory over Providence on Friday. He had three blocks and was plus-1 in Saturday's OT loss.
