Blackhawks' 2015-16 schedule breakdown

Here’s what you need to know about the Chicago Blackhawks' 2015-16 regular-season schedule:

• The Blackhawks’ banner-raising ceremony and home opener will be against the New York Rangers at the United Center on Oct. 7. The Blackhawks' first road game will be against the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Oct. 9. The teams will play again in Chicago on Oct. 10.

• The Blackhawks won’t have to wait long to face the Tampa Bay Lightning and Anaheim Ducks again. The Blackhawks host the Lightning in their eighth game of the season on Oct. 24 and the Ducks in their ninth game on Oct. 26.

• The Blackhawks’ circus trip will be six road games from Nov. 18-28. They also have two four-game road trips.

• The Blackhawks’ longest homestand will be four games. They have four four-game homestands.

• The Blackhawks close the regular season on the road against the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 9. The Blackhawks face two Central Division opponents in the final month. They're at the Winnipeg Jets on April 1 and home against the St. Louis Blues on April 7.

• The Blackhawks will play 29 Central Division games -- Blues (Nov. 4, Nov. 14, Jan. 24, March 9, April 7), Minnesota Wild (Oct. 30, Dec. 1, Feb. 21, March 20, March 29), Nashville Predators (Dec. 8, Dec. 10, Jan. 12, Jan. 19, Feb. 25), Jets (Oct. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 11, March 18, April 1), Dallas Stars (Dec. 22, Feb. 6, Feb. 11, March 11, March 22) and Colorado Avalanche (Dec. 15, Dec. 31, Jan. 10, Feb. 2).

• The Blackhawks will have 13 sets of back-to-back games. They had 15 sets of back-to-backs last season. They will have three sets of back-to-backs in October, three in November, two in December, three in January and two in March.

• The Blackhawks will play the Wild at TCF Bank Stadium in the Stadium Series on Feb. 21.
