Source: Daniel Paille to attend Blackhawks camp on PTO

Daniel Paille will attend the Chicago Blackhawks training camp on a professional tryout agreement, according to a source.

Paille, a 31-year-old forward, had six goals, seven assists and was a minus-9 in 71 games for the Boston Bruins last season. His three-year, $3.9 million contract with the Bruins expired after last season and he became an unrestricted free agent.

Paille will join a number of forwards who will be competing for what might only be one spot on the Blackhawks’ NHL roster. Paille has the potential to likely fill a bottom-six role. The Blackhawks open camp at the University of Notre Dame on Friday.

“He’s a veteran guy who wants to show he’s a very good skater, very good penalty kill and very good bottom-six guy,” the source said.

The Blackhawks will also have defenseman Jan Hejda at training camp on a professional tryout agreement.
