Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman sat down for a Q&A on the team's website recently and addressed several topics, including:
Omer Asik's future in Chicago
"Omer is a restricted free agent this summer, which means we've got an opportunity to talk to him about a new contract on July 1. And obviously other teams will have the opportunity to talk to him also. We will be able to match any offer he'll receive on the open market place, but it's our goal to have conversations with him the very first day, and we see him as a key piece to our team moving forward.
"We think he has shown the potential to continue to improve, and it's our goal that Omer Asik will be a Chicago Bull in the foreseeable future."
Nikola Mirotic's plans with the Bulls
"We're excited about Nikola. He had another terrific year this past year for Real Madrid in Spain. The second year in a row he won their Rising Star Award for their most valuable young player in the Euro League.
"Nikola is a very skilled player, can play inside, can play outside, can knock down the three-point shot. He's a hard-nosed player that we think will really fit into our system.
"He'll remain under contract with Real Madrid for the next couple years, but it's certainly our goal and our expectations that Nikola will be in a Chicago Bulls uniform somewhere down the line."
