Northwestern remains an NCAA tournament team despite its overtime loss to Michigan on Tuesday, according to ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi.
Lunardi still had Northwestern among his final four teams in the tournament on Wednesday. Lunardi noted the Wildcats were holding on to dear life with a 6-9 Big Ten record. They have upcoming road games at Iowa and Penn State and a home contest against Ohio State.
Lunardi also believes Illinois removed itself from at-large consideration entirely after its lopsided loss to Ohio State on Tuesday. The Illini have lost six in a row and nine of their past 10 games. They’re 5-10 in the Big Ten.
Michigan State, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana and Purdue were also included Lunardi’s latest bracketology.
