Anthony Rizzo hits first career inside-the-park home run

CINCINNATI -- Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo hit his first career inside-the-park home run in the first inning of his team’s game against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday.

With two runners on, Rizzo hit a ball to left center which was converged on by center fielder Billy Hamilton and left fielder Adam Duvall. The ball glanced off Duvall’s glove and then apparently hit Hamilton in the face bouncing to the wall in left field as Rizzo rounded the bases.

Hamilton lay on the ground for a few minutes before leaving under his own power. He was replaced by Tyler Holt. The home run was Rizzo’s 19th of the season.
