The Chicago White Sox have signed free-agent right-handed pitcher Brian Bruney and infielder Dallas McPherson to minor-league contracts with invitations to major-league spring training, according to two agents.
Bruney pitched for the Washington Nationals in 2010, and he was a reliever on the 2009 world champion New York Yankees.
McPherson was a No. 1 pick of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
