The Chicago White Sox will wear 1972 throwback uniforms during 13 Sunday home games this season, the team announced on Wednesday.

The red pinstriped jerseys and red caps, worn 40 years ago by a White Sox team led by Dick Allen and Bill Melton, will debut on April 15 against the Detroit Tigers.

“Being a part of those early 1970s White Sox teams, with a leader like Chuck Tanner and exciting players such as Dick Allen, Wilbur Wood and a young Goose Gossage, remains one of the fondest times in my career,” Melton said in a statement. “The red pinstripes and red baseball cap will bring back a lot of great memories for Sox fans from that generation.”
