Bradley signs forward Shayok Shayok

Shayok Shayok has signed with Bradley, the school announced on Thursday.

Shayok, a 6-6 forward, chose the Braves over interest from Detroit, Texas Tech and Valparaiso. He played last season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds. He graduated from Julian High School in Chicago in 2010, but never played for the Jaguars.

“I am thrilled Shayok has become part of the Bradley family,” Bradley coach Geno Ford said in a statement. “He is a very talented basketball player, but he also is a person of high character and a very good student. He fills an immediate need for our program and he should compete for playing time immediately.”

Shayok is Bradley’s fifth Class of 2011 recruit. He joins combo guard Jalen Crawford, forward Devon Hodges, point guard Donivine Stewart and center Nate Wells.
